If you are a fan of the original Zoo Tycoon 2 series, you will be happy to know that the sequel, Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate Collection has been patched in French. The update is available for free on Steam and Xbox Game Store. The original game was in English, but if you wanted to play ZT2 in French then your only option was to pirate it. Now that the game has been patched in French there is absolutely no reason for players living in Francophone countries not to buy it. The patch is actually rather extensive with all of the text being translated into French so it’s not just animal names which have been changed but also all signs and dialogue boxes which have had their text modified too. In addition the interface has been completely re-designed to make it easier to read and understand. The rest of the language packs for ZT2 also have been patched in French although their status is yet to be confirmed. However if they are then all of them will be available in English at a later date after that has been checked and approved by Valve. This is not a long process as it simply requires a few signatures from Valve staff before the language pack can be made available to players. This means that if ZT2 Ultimate Collection does go on sale outside of Francophone countries, it will be legal and not infringing any copyright laws since no content was recorded in French during development. Fans of Zoo Tycoon 2 can now enjoy the game in their native language. Cyanide Studios, the developer behind ZT2 Ultimate Collection has just released a free demo on Steam and Xbox One. It includes the first 3 missions of all 7 campaigns to give players a taster of what to expect.
